School History

 

Oopsy Daisy Play Academy was founded in October 2010.  I was looking for a playschool for my son, something small with personalised attention paid to each child, and could not find anything that fit. Being a qualified teacher, with an honours degree in education, and not wanting to return to public school teaching, then decided it was time to open our own little school to fill this niche market.  A school where little ones known and are understood and wasn't just 1 of 150 kids.  

 

In January 2011 Oopsy Daisy Playschool opened it's doors with 5 children, and by May of the same year, we already had 16 little ones at Oopsy Daisy.  The school was expanded and another classroom was added as a second classroom. In September 2011, Oopsy Daisy was suddenly a medium sized school, with 40 little ones, 2 teachers, & 2 assistants.

 

In 2013 Oopsy Daisy decided it's important not to focus on play alone, but to offer a complete curriculum to the parents and children of  Oopsy Daisy, & so Oopsy Daisy Playschool changed to Oopsy Daisy Play Academy.

At the end of 2017 we saw the need to expand Oopsy Daisy once again.  Our littlest ones moved to brand new classes and we also added a new class, the little Giraffes.  In January 2018 we opened our new classrooms and brand new playground for our 14 months to 3 year olds.

Oopsy Daisy now consists of 4 age groups plus an aftercare centre (for Oopsy Daisy kids only).
